DOPPSTADT AK 560: EFFICIENT PALM SHREDDING WITH A TECHNICAL SPECIAL SOLUTION

Over 2,400 operating hours and still in top shape: Our AK 560 reliably supports EDEVAL in compost production – and thanks to a technical solution, it will soon be able to efficiently process palm residues as well.

In Algiers, the vibrant capital of Algeria, EDEVAL is responsible for maintaining the city’s extensive parks and green spaces. A key component of this sustainable urban greening is the company’s own compost production. Since 2019, EDEVAL has relied on a Doppstadt AK 560 shredder to transform green waste into valuable compost – the foundation for cultivating new plants and trees.

Durable performance under the Algerian sun

The AK 560 demonstrates impressive robustness and longevity at EDEVAL: After more than 2,400 operating hours, the shredder continues to run with absolute reliability. Particularly noteworthy is the exceptional care the EDEVAL team devotes to the machine. It is meticulously maintained and even sheltered in a dedicated hangar.
Despite intensive use, the AK 560 looks almost brand new – a perfect example of what durable Doppstadt technology and committed customer maintenance can achieve together.

A special solution for palm residues

One major challenge was the material generated from palm trees. The fibrous and tough structure of palm residues caused the standard rear basket of the AK 560 – whose mesh size was too fine – to clog immediately. Efficient processing had not been possible until now.

The solution was found in close collaboration with EDEVAL and the local dealer SARL ASA NC: the integration of a 400 mm interchangeable mesh. With this special configuration, palm material can now be processed smoothly and efficiently. This technical upgrade will give the AK 560 a significant advantage for green-space maintenance in palm-rich regions and will greatly increase flexibility for EDEVAL.

Looking ahead: Compost production on a growth path

EDEVAL plans to significantly expand its compost production in order to sell the self-produced substrate in the future. The AK 560 already provides ample power reserves for this. What the customer still needs is a professional screening machine – the SM 518 is the ideal candidate.

We look forward to supporting this success story in Algiers with long-lasting technology and tailored solutions.
